About Us

What is CarolinaKinder? CarolinaKinder is a non-profit organization that organizes playgroups, story times, German lessons, and German festivities to give children in the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham, NC) an opportunity to learn and practice the German language with their peers and engage in German cultural events. We are supported by our generous members and volunteers, including our board members and officers.

What are the benefits of joining CarolinaKinder? Reduced membership rates for classes and free admission to events.

What events do you have? Throughout the year we typically have events such as a bonfire, St. Marteen, St. Nikolaus and Maifest. We often include book exchanges as part of these events, free of charge. Our generous members donate their gently used German books, giving us a great library!

Do I have to be a member to take classes or attend events? Non-members are welcome to sign up for classes at the non-member rate and attend events for a small donation.

How do I join CarolinaKinder? Our membership year starts in July. If you join after July, you will pay a pro-rated rate. See our Membership page
